Polish Schools Open Branch in UK

In the United Kingdom today, there more than 1 million people from Poland and of these, around 7,000 are students. Thanks to a joint initiative between the Warsaw School of Economics and the Warsaw University, more of these Polish immigrants may begin taking classes in Polish without ever needing to travel outside the UK. According to the spokeswoman of Warsaw University, Anna Korzekwa, there has long been a need for the schools to work together to bring a level of strength in their bond not only with Europe, but also in the UK. This means that they will need a branch to be established in London and in a recent survey of Polish citizens headed to Ireland or Great Britain, nearly 27% of those asked responded that they would be interested in studying at a UK based Polish university. Finance, international relations and management were the primary interests of those surveyed and that is what will most likely be the focus of any new university to be set up in London.

The Warsaw School of Economics’ spokesman, Tomasz Rusek, has told the press that the niche of educational need among young Polish citizens could be easily filled with such a pairing of universities. The younger generation is very much looking for ways to be able to achieve a higher level of education, Rusek said, in more economic areas and may wish to either return to Poland one day or remain in the UK, but either way they will be able to play a far more active role in the global community once they have the proper education.
