It is rare to find a parent that hasn’t experienced the frustration of their child losing one (or several) of their belongings at school. This doesn’t just mean stationary such as pens and pencils but it also extends to things such as shoes and even bags. The reason for this is that children are often prone to losing items in their possession and that many school clothes and utensils are all quite similar therefore it is easy for them to be mixed up.
Having name labels on your kids’ clothes can ensure that they do not go missing and it will also save you an added expense of having to replace the lost item or contact the school to see if they can locate it. However what kind of name labels should you use? Many people are put off with the customary ‘sticker’ labels as they can be torn off and become lost on occasion especially when they are attached to a series of hyper kids running about all day. Indeed, many people are also put off by the idea of sewing the labels on as sewing isn’t as big in this day and age as it used to be and less people are capable of doing it and, also, it feels very permanent.
The answer could lie in iron one labels. These labels work by simply putting the label on the item of clothing and then running a hot iron over the top several times for it to become attached to the item in question. This way is far more secure than simple sticking the label on with adhesive but it is not as permanent and damaging as sewing; it is a very effective compromise between the two and will mean that your child and everyone else will know who’s item’s are whose.
